Time for Renewal

Walking my dog Bennie every morning has always been a time for deep thinking and meditation. Once he loses interest in every mailbox along our path, we get into a groove that opens my mind to wonder. The pace of my steps, the sounds of the birds, the scents of the seasons, all set the stage for letting go and leaning into possibilities.

These morning walks led to my decision to leave the place that has been such an important part of my life for decades. They led to a vision of how I can broaden my purpose to serve more people in my community and the world.

The Gift of Renewal

I tracked my thoughts, ideas, doubts, and excitement in a journal during this time. I often go back to one entry of seven words:

Retire

Refocus

Reframe

Relearn

Reinvest

Restore

Renew

The progression of these words has so much meaning to me. They represent letting go and leaning into renewal. They represent the struggle of self-confidence and self-doubt. They represent the next step in my career.

I feel renewed by my purpose “To help people learn and grow so they can achieve their greatest potential.” I feel energized by what's ahead.

Now, this purpose is taking a different form with PACE Coaching + Consulting. I am reminded that renewal doesn’t only happen in times of transition. It happens every day we live intentionally.

How are you renewing yourself?
